Tânăr în lume
Încă un post preluat de pe blogul Corinei, cu permisiunea ei desigur. Considerăm că informaţia prezentată mai jos e extrem de relevantă pentru viitorii delegaţi de tineret la ONU, aşa că… lectură plăcută!
Ce inseamna sa fii youth delegate la Adunarea Generala a Natiunilor Unite? Este aceasta “functie” ceva mai mult de o calatorie la New York pe banii guvernului, o serie de discursuri plictisitoare si dineuri oficiale cu vin bun si aperitive frumos decorate? Noi, delegatii pe 2006 la AG, credem ca da. Am stat aici timp de doua saptamani, am facut lobby pentru ca fiecare tara sa includa un reprezentant al tinerilor din respectiv tara in delegatia oficiala a statului la Adunarea Generala, am discutat fata in fata cu ambasadori si inalti oficiali ONU problemele cu care se confrunta tinerii. Fiecare din noi a tinut un discurs in cadrul sesiunilor dedicate dezvoltarii sociale din Comitetul al Treilea. Fiecare a incercat sa discute cu ambasadorii si cu ceilalti delegati ai tarii lui la Natiunile Unite si sa prezentam cat mai clar posibil problemele cu care ne confruntam noi, ca tineri, astazi. Cand ne vom intoarce la casele noastre, vom incerca sa aratam si celor de acasa ce inseamna Natiunile Unite, ce poate sa faca aceasta institutie pentru tineri si mai ales ce putem sa facem noi – ca tineri – sa ne ajutam atat pe noi, cat si pe colegii nostri de generatie nascuti in spatii mai putin fericite chiar si decat amarata noastra de Romanie.
Putini stiu ca actuala generatia de tineri este cea mai mare generatie din istorie. Peste un sfert din populatia lumii are intre 15 si 25 de ani. In tarile subdezvoltate procentul atinge aproape 50%. Oricum, 80% din tineri in general traiesc in tarile subdezvoltate. Peste 200 milioane traiesc cu mai putin de 2 dolari pe zi, 80 milioane sunt someri, iar SIDA omoara zilnic aproape 8 tineri in Africa. Toate astea pot fi citite intr-un excelent raport al ONU: World Youth Report 2005. Tinerii sunt victimele migratiei, traficului de persoane – apropo, conform ultimului raport 60% din victimele traficului de persoane in Europa sunt femei si copii din Romania, si abuzurilor de tot felul.
Guvernele tarilor noastre, care s-au angajat prin Obiectivele de Dezvoltare ale Mileniului sa dedice 0.7% din PIB (0.3% in cazul Romaniei) asistentei pentru dezvoltare – care, apropo, nu e o forma de caritate, ci e o investitie si nu inseamna sa dai peste oamenilor, ci sa ii inveti sa pescuiasca – in mod sistematic refuza sa faca asta. La cat de interdependenta a devenit lumea asta mare, nu prea ne mai putem permite sa ignoram ceea ce se intampla in afara granitelor tarisoarei noastre. La nivel micro, precum bine stim, tinerii din Romania au probleme multe. Si nu e cazul ca liderii politici (ai Romaniei si ai lumii) sa ignore toate astea. Tinerii sunt probabil cea mai mare resursa umana a lumii si totodata cea mai vulnerabila.
Aceasta ar fi misiunea unui youth delegate la GA. Sa fie veriga de legatura intre tineri (cu multele lor probleme) si guverne. Colegii mei din Olanda, Norvegia, Suedia, Danemarca, Australia – tari care au de cativa ani buni incoace youth delegates la GA in mod constant – chiar reusesc sa faca asta. La anul, cand ma voi intoarce in Romania, planul meu este sa implementez o colaborare interinstitutionala foarte teapana intre Ministerul Afacerilor Externe, Agentia Nationala pentru Tineret si ONG-uri de tineret si sa incepem sa construim veriga lipsa. Imi fac temele acum la NY si la primavara ma intorc pregatita. Promit.
